Top Generative AI tools

In this entry I will give you the run down on the best generative AI tools available as of mid-December 2023. Please let me know if I missed anything. (feedback here)

ChatGPT: 3.5 and Plus (4.0 and above)
ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, gained significant popularity as a pioneering natural language processor (NLP) when it first made an impact in November 2022. Here's a summary of its capabilities: As an advanced text generator, ChatGPT excels in producing nuanced and coherent responses, surpassing several of its competitors. Like other NLP tools, it has its share of inaccuracies and biases, necessitating continuous monitoring. For approximately $20 per month, users can access a faster model. This paid plan includes access to Dall-E, an image generator, live internet searches through Bing, and code interpretation features. Notably, the latest Dall-E version is freely accessible through Microsoft Bing and Microsoft Image Creator. Many of ChatGPT's paid features are also available on Microsoft Bing, although the user interface is less polished and the capability to recall past conversations is more limited. In my opinion, the paid version of ChatGPT stands out among NLP models for its speed and accuracy. Its integration with image generation is particularly beneficial. However, the landscape is evolving with new iterations of leading models expected soon, which could change the current scenario.

Google's Bard
Bard is Google's NLP model, akin to OpenAI's ChatGPT. In early December 2023, Bard received a significant update with the release of the Gemini edition, Google's latest NLP innovation. Unlike OpenAI, which uses numerical identifiers for its versions, Google opts for names, such as Gemini, for its models. The integration of Gemini into Bard has been designed to enhance its capabilities in sophisticated reasoning, planning, understanding, and more. A standout feature of Bard is its seamless integration with Gmail and other Google applications. In these apps, Bard, referred to as Duet, enables users to summarize email threads and compose email responses efficiently. These functionalities can be easily accessed from the Google homepage. Users simply need to log in and navigate to the Bard application to utilize these features. Use this link to try Duet: https://labs.google.com/search?source=ntp

Bard is very good, but in my opinion it still lags behind ChatGPT in speed and usability. Again, this may change in the near future.
Bard/Gemini future: Gemini Ultra, set to debut in 2024 with Bard Advanced, will enable the AI to understand and act on various types of information, including text, images, audio, video, and code, and will feature multimodal reasoning capabilities

MICROSOFT Bing/CoPilot: Microsoft’s partnership with OpenAI has allowed them to leverage ChatGPT's technology to enhance Bing's AI capabilities, known as Bing Chat. Bing offers a quick and easy way to interact with ChatGPT's capabilities without the need for logging in. However, signing into Bing provides additional benefits, such as an expanded context memory and the ability to view your interaction history. Furthermore, logged-in users gain access to the Image Creator. In fact, logging into Bing unlocks most of ChatGPT's paid features at no cost. The only limitations are a cap of 30 chats per session and a total of 300 chats per day.
CoPilot CoPilot is a rebranded version of Bing which is used to power innovation AI assistance in office products such as Word and Excel. CoPilot is free with Microsoft 365 E3 and E5, and Business Premium and Business Standard packages. However, Microsoft 365 Copilot is an add-on license to several Microsoft 365 packages. You access CoPilot for free online at https://copilot.microsoft.com/.

Those are the big three. They have the most "forward facing products." Meaning, they are consumer based instead of business based. As opposed to the Meta, Amazon and IBM whose products are either imbedded into other products or focus on business to business tools.

Some other consumer products that warrant mention are listed below.

Deep Dream (Google Image Generator) Overview: An experimental computer vision program using convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to recognize and amplify patterns in digital images. This is not nearly as good as Dall-E. There are pro features that I have not used. Features: Transforms images into surreal and psychedelic art, reminiscent of works by artists like Bosch and Dali. Usage: Accessible through online tools like Deep Dream Generator or programming libraries such as TensorFlow and Keras. Pricing: Free to use
